Overview:

The track is a section of runway exactly one mile (5280 feet) in length. One vehicle at a time is on the track. Electronic Timing triggered by laser beams are used to determine speed.  The “speed trap” used to measure speed consists of the last 132 feet of the one-mile track. Running order is generally “first come, first served.” Entrants will run from a standing start.  There are no pre-run or warm-up burnouts allowed, and starting burnouts must be kept to a minimum.  Elapsed Time will not be measured, only Top Speed. There is a minimum 0.8 mile slowdown  area after the speed trap, with as much extra runoff as possible.   Upon returning to the Paddock, each vehicle stops briefly at the timing station and receives its speed slip for the run.

Please be aware that this is a standing start event.  Push-assisted starts are not permitted.  We would prefer that vehicles leave the pits, start, make their run, and return to the pits under their own power; however, vehicles may be towed or pushed to the starting line area and recovered from the finish area if necessary.
